A Guide to Lucid Dreaming
Part 0: introduction
Hello Friends and fellow Dreamers. I would like to begin by thanking you for your time. It’s not often I get to share my knowledge of this particular talent. This will be a tutorial and list of personal accounts on my technique for making the mind achieve the lucid dream state.
Lucid dreaming is ability to take your consciousness and use it to overpower your sub consciousness while in dreamscape. Giving yourself control over the dream and your dreamscape around even to God like proportions, but remember these powers only exist in the dreamscape,
Let me also start with saying that anyone can have a lucid dream, however some techniques to forcing them may not work for you as they will for others. I will be giving steps on how I force myself into a lucid dream, and if this does not work for you (over a lengthened period of time) I will see about recommending another technique.
WARNING
This does not require anything but your own willingness and patience. This will not occur over night and may take days to even weeks to even months to accomplish. Now if we are ready then let us begin.
Part 1: RECALL
A list of things you MAY need.
-pencil/pen
-a fresh notebook
-a watch
-washable marker (preferable red)
-alarm clock(you will be sleeping after all)
All of these things are only recommended and are not fully needed but may help you in the beginning.
Before any lucid dreaming can be achieved we must increase what is referred to as dream recall.
This is the vividness of the dream and the overall length of time that you can remember it once awoken from sleep. For most people the vividness is quite low and the time to remember is also really low. You may only remember your dream for seconds or minutes and in poor detail, but we can fix this with a dream journal.
You may do this in your head of keep a physical copy which I highly recommend. Not only is it helpful but it may even give you a good laugh latter on.
Now you may be wondering what dream recall has to do with the actual process of lucid dreaming. And in all honesty it has little purpose other than to find your trigger. I will explain more about this latter.
But for now every time you go to sleep place this journal by your bed or even in the bed with a pen or pencil nearby. Now when you sleep you will dream and when you wake up you must immediately write all that you can remember in as little to as much detail as possible. Start slow, point form notes will be your best friend in the beginning.
After you become more confident with your Recall try writing in more detail to full sentences.
I’d say do this for a few days to even two weeks.
Once you have written a few coherent pages, we must start to look for the trigger.
This is Vital to this technique. It is always different amongst people but it always remains the same to you. It could be a colour, an item, an animal, a voice, anything. But it will be in every dream you have
My trigger was difficult to find because it was very low detail compared to others.
Mine is simply the colour red. In odd spots that don’t normally appear as red. In example I could have red hair instead of brown or my kitchen walls could be red instead of green. But this is my trigger.
Part 2: Trigger
Now that you have established your Trigger you must now associate that particular Trait/thing with dreaming. Draw a picture of it, write down what it is called, or even write it on your arm. I recommend red washable marker because red draws the eyes to look at it. Carry a watch or set timers on your phone for every hour.
For the next little while whenever the time of hour comes or the alarm sounds check your trigger sheet or your arm, when you see this trigger no matter where or when, think of yourself dreaming. You must also test reality. Don’t go jumping off buildings I mean in small parlor trick ways. Look at what you wrote on your arm or drew on the paper and glance it over then look away and then look back at it to make sure it hasn’t changed. Make this a subconscious habit. Repeat it until you never think about what you are doing or why. This may take a few days but once you have achieved this you will start to do it even in your dreams.
Part 3: reality 404 gravity not found
If you have managed to complete the previous steps, then congratulations the massive time consuming part is over. You now have the power to begin lucid dreaming. But before we jump into the dreamscape and become the moderator of your own dreams I would like to set ground rules and establish how things work in a dream.
The first time you catch your trigger sheet or your arm note changing we must push the boundary a little more. If say the word on your arm is sheep, you look away and now it says cow or anything that is not the word sheep written in red washable marker, you must start parlor trick two. Check your watch if wearing one look at the time and look away, look back if the time is drastically different it is safe to assume you are dreaming but just in case parlor trick three must be done. Jump. That’s right jump I don’t care how stupid you think that sounds just jump. If you truly are in dream scape you will notice that gravity is either severely dropped or none existent.
If you float you`re dreaming, if you drop like normal then YOU ARE AWAKE STOP JUMPING PEOPLE ARE STARTING TO LOOK.
With your new found floating ability you will be able to traverse your subconscious plan known as the dreamscape much more easily. You are now aware you are dreaming, fully conscious and in full control.
But before you do anything drastic or clearly impossible. I must lay down the rules of dreaming so you do not hurt yourself or get yourself stuck.
1. spirits of almost any kind can and often take notice of the guy god modding his dreams. You will not be able to do much if anything to them often they will just pass through other times they just want to chat or cause mischief for fun.
2. When dreaming if you see a thin silver cord going from yourself to anything wake up if you can make yourself, or stay put and paly out the dream naturally this is your cord to reality if it breaks or leaves your body, you could suffer from a bad case of coma or even death. Depending on the extent of the damage. You will often never see this cord but if you do protect it at all costs.
3. Don’t overdo it in the beginning you will wake yourself up without proper restraint. Start off easy with simple things you couldn’t normally do and work your way up from there.
4. MIRRORS ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS.
5. Mirrors can distort and show you things you would never want to see, they hide your secrets they hide your lies and they can manifest them in the form of a nightmare, and when lucid a nightmare can be a breeze or hell for a few hours. This is because you may lose control of the dream and lose your power over it. All you will be left with is a really vivid nightmare.
6. If you find yourself looking at a mirror don’t stare for long. Glance and move on.
7. If you lose control. Try to wake yourself up pushing your limits if you can.
I refer to this as shocking yourself awake because it is quick and can leave you
looking ill for a while.
8. You cannot experience anything you have never had before,
9. But you can access your memories in almost full detail, or relive your happiest moments.
10. And finally keep yourself calm because excitement leads to waking up or shocking yourself awake.
This concludes the beginners guide to lucid dreaming. If you feel I missed something or have any questions you may send me a private message. And I will get back to you. If you want any other help in lucid dreaming I will go over other ways to enter this state but that may take more time.
Thank you again for your time.
